It's been a looonnggg time since I used Ernies so couldn't honestly compare. As for the D'addarios, I think the String Dogs feel a bit looser in tension - not quite Elixer loose, but closer towards that. I like D'add's but find I kill them in a set or two (sweat content) and the String Dogs are lasting me weeks and even up to a month or more; thus a bit more lasting for me as the Elixers are, but at a far more affordable price point."
